WHEELS DUKE LUCKY STAR HD \/ HOPE PRO5<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/b><\/span>Lucky Star HD 6TERS<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>are aluminium rims designed for all types of\u00a0<\/span>XC<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/b><\/span>XC racing<\/strong>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>andtrail riding<\/strong>. The front\/rear widths are\u00a0<\/span>differentiated<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span>28mm\/26mm or 30mm\/28mm<\/strong>depending on the tyre section.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

They are characterised by good\u00a0<\/span>lateral stiffness<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>and very good\u00a0<\/span>strength<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>at a\u00a0<\/span>low weight<\/strong>, thanks in part to the use of Dynamal aluminium. The rims feature a new, modern, lower geometry with an\u00a0<\/span>asymmetrical profile<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>hookless walls<\/strong>. The rim holes are\u00a0<\/span>off-centre<\/strong>(offset), which makes it possible to close the spoke umbrella more tightly. This makes the rim more\u00a0<\/span>stable<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>and increases the lateral stiffness<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>of the wheel. The spoke tensions between the two plies are more balanced, which guarantees a\u00a0<\/span>better durability<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>of the wheel. The hookless rim walls allow for both\u00a0<\/span>rim reinforcement<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>weight reduction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

HOPE PRO 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Building on Hope\u2019s 30+ years of manufacturing hubs, the Pro 5 proved to be one of the most reliable and versatile hubs on the market offering the right balance between speed of pick-up, load capacity, durability and drag.
\nOne of the key design objectives for the Pro 5 was the reduction of drag in the drive mechanism. This has real world riding benefits and was achieved by upgrading the sealing with a new zero drag labyrinth seal, and an improved ratchet and pawl system, with new springs. Both greatly reduce drag as well as increase durability and load capacity.
\nAnother big advantage comes in the Points of Engagement (POE 108) using an offset 6 pawl freehub design, where 3 pawls are engaged at any time. This achieves the right balance between speed of pick-up, load capacity, drag & durability, and in real-world terms gives a speedy feel on the trail whilst keeping crank movement to an acceptable level without compromising the free running of the hub or its reliability.
\nExternally the shell takes a new profile to add stiffness without adding weight whilst housing a new axle design enabling the use of bigger bearings in a better arrangement to fit the latest freehub standards whilst increasing load capacity.
\nAs with every product made at Hope durability and longevity are key. Everything about the Pro 5 has been considered, and tested to work in the worst conditions possible from seals to bearings….And eventually if something does wear out the Pro 5 is fully serviceable and rebuildable with simple tools, or if you need to change drivetrain standards one hub works with everything. So swapping freehubs is easily done, and changing end caps to suit different frame and fork axle standards future proofing your wheels.
\nCompletely new for the Pro 5 is the option of Centrelock disc fitting and an e-bike specific hub that comes with a freehub tailor made for the stresses and strains of e-bike use.<\/p>\n
